A feedback ritual designed to make tension productive.
The Chaos of Review
Strand’s internal product team was facing significant bottlenecks during design review cycles. Their feedback process was scattered across multiple chat threads, email chains, and markup tools. This fragmentation made it difficult for designers to prioritize requests, leading to project delays and team fatigue. Strand brought in DADA Studio to design a custom collaborative interface that could consolidate reviews and transform disagreements into a calm, constructive dialogue.
Designing the Review Portal
We designed a minimal review portal structured around the concept of categorical feedback. The layout is divided into a clean two-column grid: the left side displays the design asset under review, while the right column houses a structured stack of comments. Comments are automatically sorted into clear, actionable tags (such as 'blocking' or 'suggested'). By utilizing a sidebar layout, we preserved maximum real estate for the visual asset under review, ensuring the interface remains uncluttered and functional.

Refining the System
We built a minimal feedback interface that groups revision comments into categorical bins (blocking vs. optional). With clean typography and clear horizontal margins, the feedback application presents complex threads without visual noise. This structural clarity has brought a calmer culture to Strand's product cycles, boosting feedback adoption rates to 100% and aligning cross-functional teams.
Process Comparison
Phase | Old Process | New Calmer Process |
|---|---|---|
Submission | Scattered email threads | Categorized review portal |
Triage | Random prioritization | Automatic tag bins (blocking/optional) |
Resolution | Endless meeting reviews | Direct, structured comment threads |
Duration | 7–10 days average | 2–3 days average |
Disagreement used to stall us for weeks. Now it's the part of the process we trust most.
